Where rock beats everything else
Not every square foot needs to be lawn. Rock is the right answer along the fence line, under the trees, in a narrow side yard, around the AC unit, and anywhere on a Perris lot that gets full afternoon sun and no foot traffic.
It uses no water, it does not fade, and it does not need to be topped up every year the way bark does. The trade-off is that it is permanent, so the shape has to be right the first time.
Why cheap rock jobs fail in Perris
Three reasons, all avoidable:
No edge. Rock spread against a lawn migrates into it within one rainy season. It needs a poured curb or a hard edge to sit against.
The wrong barrier. Thin weed cloth breaks down in a few years, and then the rock sinks into the dirt and weeds come through anyway.

If the area is going to be walked on regularly, say so. A path through gravel wants step pads set into it, or you end up with a rut.
Questions before you call
How much rock do I need?
It comes down to square footage and depth. We measure and quote it delivered and spread, so there is no guessing at the yard store and no leftover pile in your driveway.
Will weeds grow through the rock?
Not from underneath with proper barrier and enough depth. Seed blows in and sprouts on top over time, which pulls out by hand.
Does rock make the yard hotter?
Dark rock in full Perris sun holds heat and radiates it. If the area is next to a patio you sit on, lighter rock is the better call.
Can you do rock and turf in the same yard?
That is most of our jobs. Turf where you walk and where the kids and dogs are, rock everywhere else, with a hard edge between them.
