Low-voltage wire has to get from the transformer to every fixture, which means trenching. If the turf and the concrete are already down, we are cutting into a finished yard to bury wire and then closing it back up.

Is low-voltage lighting expensive to run?

No. LED fixtures on a low-voltage transformer draw very little, which is why almost all residential landscape lighting is built this way now.

Can you add lighting to a yard that already has turf and concrete?

Yes. It takes more care, because we open and close along the wire runs. We plan the routes to minimize that and show you where they go before we start.

Do the lights turn on automatically?

The transformer runs on a timer or a photocell, so they come on at dusk and shut off at whatever hour you pick.

What happens when a bulb goes out?

LED fixtures last years. When one fails it is a fixture swap, not a rewire, because the wire and connections stay in the ground.
