What that means for your yard
On an A-1 lot, the open animal-keeping area has to stay free of anything that needs a building permit. A pool and 5 feet of coping around it count toward the 40% lot coverage cap. We mark the animal area first, then place the patio, walls and turf around it.
Norco's equestrian historic district lists the trails and the trail fencing along its streets as part of the town's character. We keep our work on your side of the trail and leave the trail fence alone.

We take the 74 west to the 15 north and get into Norco in about 34 miles and 42 minutes to City Hall. It is the same freeway run as Corona, so we often book Norco and Corona jobs on the same days.
Questions before you call
Is artificial grass allowed in Norco?
Yes. Norco's water-efficient landscaping chapter says the use of artificial turf is permitted in the city and has to follow the landscape design plan section of that chapter. We lay it on a compacted base with drainage so it holds up to dogs and foot traffic.
How tall can a front yard wall be in Norco?
It depends on the zone. In an A zone, a wall or fence in the front setback can be 6 feet if it blocks no more than 10% of the view, or 3 feet if it is solid. In an R zone the front setback cap is 3 feet. Side and rear walls top out at 6 feet in both.
Can I build a patio in my animal-keeping area?
Norco's A-1 rules say the open animal-keeping area must stay free of structures that need a building permit, and only permit-exempt animal shelters can go there. We check where your animal area sits before we draw anything, and keep walls and covered structures out of it.
